i completed this quick color study in 30 minutes. i can already tell that the wings are going to have to be less saturated. any other advice? i'd appreciate it.
As a promised before with my character sketches (3 entries down) here is an update of one of my characters. It's still in progress, but this a rough black and white value study for my character "Rubert." First time working in Corel Painter - needless to say it took sometime getting used to. I had so much fun though with him. Look forward to seeing where Rubert ends up!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of sitting in Rittenhouse Park. It was absolutely beautiful out. I love this time of year with the leafs falling and the weather being warm enough to not shiver but cool enough to curl up with a light coat and scarf.
i have decided to upload a few of my very rough sketches. they are all observations and done in my moleskine with a basic pen. nothing fancy, but enjoy.
it was a beautiful weekend. hope everyone got to enjoy the great outdoors while we still have this beautiful weather. i didn't get too do much sketching over the weekend. however today i did a few quick sketches and value studies with colored pencil for a creature concept project. below are so far some of the little buggies i've drawn up in the past hour.
the quality is pretty bad but you get the idea. i plan on doing this digitally in flat color. none of the creatures will consist of more than 4 colors (this includes values). i'll upload the final versions of these as they come. xx
